Affordable Care for a Healthy Community
Community Acupuncture is wonderful in many ways and is becoming popular all over the world. In a community setting, patients are treated together in a large, quiet and comfortable room. We respectfully give patients our full attention and provide them with treatments customized to their needs.
It has been found that treatments done in groups are extremely effective. When you enter a room full of relaxed, calm people, your body naturally relaxes. Administering acupuncture reinforces this relaxation, and your body reaches a state where it can heal itself.
When you come into the clinic for the initial visit we will meet briefly, in a private room, to discuss your main concerns. We will then begin your first acupuncture treatment. During the follow-up sessions we will have a brief discussion about your needs, and then the treatment will begin. Please wear comfortable fitting clothing, so you are able to roll up your sleeves and pant legs. Each person stays fully dressed. If needed, we have private rooms to access different areas of the body.
This may sound funny, but our goal is to talk less and treat more – acupuncture works best when you can sit and relax for a longer period. Your health is our priority and we want you feeling better soon. Once in treatment, conversation is kept to a minimum to allow for complete relaxation. We strive to make your treatment a friendly, inviting and effective experience.
Acupuncture is a process, and healing occurs over a series of treatments building on each other. Initially you may notice the treatment provides relief for a few hours or a day, in time it may last a day or two, and so on. The more frequent the treatment, the stronger the effect. The benefits of acupuncture are greatly increased by receiving regular, frequent treatments; therefore we encourage you to come back as often as you need. Community acupuncture makes it easy for people to get regular treatments. It also creates the possibility to be treated with friends and family, and to enjoy peace and quiet in a comfortable and collective healing environment.
The fees are based on a sliding scale system, removing any financial obstacles. The patient decides what they are comfortable paying based on the following price ranges.

$35 - $55 Initial Visit
$20 - $40 Follow Up
North Shore Community Acupuncture is part of an international cooperative called People's Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA). POCA clinics offer treatment in a group setting and charge on a sliding scale format ($15-50). Community acupuncture is a nationwide movement to create access to acupuncture by removing the barrier of cost from healing.
